NYC
Bus Trip Travelogue
July 13, 2010

Greetings Friends!!

Today, we spent more time on the bus. We were “rollin’, rollin’, rollin’...” We crossed the mighty Mississippi River, drove in 3 states - Illinois, Iowa, and South Dakota. These are some of the things we did to pass the time.

  • Devotions - We have morning and afternoon devotions.  Each church on the bus, takes turns providing devotions for the bus.
  • Tech-free Time - During the morning, we observe 20-30 minutes of “tech-free time” in which we read, journal, or meditate.  This quiet time is helping us prepare to experience God at NYC.
  • Movies - Because the bus is equiped with DVD/VCR players and TV monitors, we watched a movie today - “The Princess Bride”
  • Etc. - Talking to our seat-mates and others is always an enjoyable past-time. Anything we can think of to pass away the miles. Tomorrow will be better as we will be doing much more “touristy” stuff.

Best Memory of the Day

  • Crossing the Mississippi
  • Watching the “Princess Bride”
  • Visiting the Corn Palace

Quote of the Day:

  • How much longer until we can get off the bus??
  • Corny jokes!!
