Morning devotions on the bus was full of high-action: from shaking
hands to tweaking cheeks as we sang a song.

It was exciting to finally cross the Missouri river!

The Badlands had some beautiful sights to see - we were amazed to get a
little taste of God's breathtaking creations!

The Badlands never ceased to amaze us!

Sarah Kovacs (York First) finally made it to the top of the rocks in
the Badlands!

Erin McCracken (York First) was elated to explore the rocky crevaces
that the Badlands entailed.

Marshall Garrett and Dannon Bishop (Ridge) enjoy a breathtaking view
from the top.

Erin Burg (York First) rests safely on a sturdy rock near the top of a
mound.

Sarah Kovacs, Erin McCracken, Erin Burg, and Didi Rodriguez (left to
right) from York First worked as a team to reach the final peak of a
steep climb.

In the heart of the Badlands lays a contorted, intricate tree that our
group came upon during a second stop.

Peering out into the distance of the vast scenery.

One of the highlights of our day was seeing Mount Rushmore. Can anyone
name the four presidents?

It soon became an impromptu snack time as we waited to load the bus at
Mount Rushmore.

Journal
Entry:
Dear Diary,
Today we boarded the bus at 7:00 am. Our first stop was at the Badlands
National Park. We had fun exploring on the rocks. Next we headed to
Wall Drug's
for lunch, also known as the biggest tourist trap around. After that,
we visited Mount Rushmore. It was fascinating to see the
sculpture of the president's heads. We then went to Crazy Horse and
explored around the visitor's center. Currently, we are in
Spearfish, SD
where we ate supper at the Pizza Ranch Buffet and settled into our
hotel to relax after our long day of sightseeing.
